What to expect?

At Physical Formula, client check-ins are a dedicated 20–25 minute one-to-one meeting with a coach designed entirely around you, your goals, your lifestyle and your progress. Unlike generic gym “reviews”, our check-ins are completely bespoke and are used to ensure your training, nutrition, recovery and overall direction are aligned with what you are trying to achieve both inside and outside of the gym. 

 Every check-in looks slightly different depending on the individual. For some members, this may involve a full progress review including body weight, waist measurements, progress photos, training consistency, nutrition habits and lifestyle accountability. For others, it may be more performance-focused reviewing strength progressions, running performance, movement quality or preparing for events such as Hyrox, races or athletic goals. 

 Your check-in may include: 

 • Body composition and progress tracking 

• Weight and waist measurements where appropriate 

• Nutrition and habit review 

• Goal setting and accountability 

• Weekly structure and training planning 

• Recovery, sleep and stress discussions 

• Technique and movement analysis 

• Exercise form reviews across key lifts and movements 

• Mobility and injury prevention guidance 

• Progression planning within SGPT and conditioning sessions 

• Confidence-building within movements or gym environment

 • Adjustments to training volume, intensity or frequency


 For members newer to training, a check-in may focus heavily on building confidence, improving movement patterns and helping you better understand your body and training. For more advanced members, it may be used to refine performance, improve technical execution or strategically structure training around life, work and events. 

 These meetings are not designed to simply “tick boxes”  they are a chance to sit down properly with a coach, ask questions, gain clarity and make sure you continue moving forward with purpose and structure. At PF, we believe long-term progress comes from coaching, communication and consistency, not random workouts. The client check-in is a huge part of that process and allows us to deliver a far more personalised experience than a standard gym or class environment.
